Our Mission

Statement

At St. Joseph’s N.S,Valleymount we strive to ensure that every pupil feels valued and cherished as a member of the school community. It is our aim to ensure that each and every pupil develops to his/her fully potential: morally, spiritually, emotionally, socially, physically, culturally and academically. The school is totally inclusive and recognises and respects the variety of differences that exist between children and the need to accommodate these differences. We also make every effort to ensure that the school is a happy, safe and secure place where these pupils can develop. In the belief that the school’s relationship with parents is of the utmost importance every effort is made to ensure that parents are well informed and that the school provides a welcoming atmosphere towards parents.

Ethos

This is a Catholic school and the school models and promotes a philosophy of life inspired by belief in God and in the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

We welcome all pupils from our community and respect that many of these may not be of the Catholic faith. Every pupil is encouraged to have respect for him/herself and also to have respect for all other members of the school community. In turn each pupil is treated fairly within a respectful and tolerant environment. Co-operation is extremely important – the staff, parents and pupils must work together to make this school a happy, safe and secure place.
